The massive appeal of Dick's is hard to put your finger on.  We don't know if it's the wacky tacky decor, the somtimes sassy service, or the bountiful buckets of fabulous food.  We do know the food's hot, the beer's cold and if the music's too loud... you're too damn old.  That's right, we're Dick's... where it's fun for all & all in fun for all that dare to enter.

An Imperfect Place in a Perfect World

From yuppies to old farts, from high-class to no-class, from the top of the food chain to the bottom of the barrel, it's fun for all and all in for for those who dare to enter!   Sit back and watch, or join in the fun.  Dick's has always been known for its outrageous, surly, energetic waitstaff who inflict humor upon our guests.  Our atmosphere makes everyone feel like they're temporarily breaking all the rules... and getting away with it.  We have live music Thursday-Saturday night featuring questionable bands playing 80's & 90's hits and there's never a cover charge.  There's never a dull moment in this 3-ring circus which is exactly how we earned our infamous reputation.

Places with Good Food are a Dime a Dozen

No white tablecloths here... this is a down and dirty joint!  Dick's has gone back to the basics (basic caveman).  We make our food from scratch and it's served up in big stainless steel buckets... big sloppy ribs, juicy honey-roasted chicken, and generous servings of fried catfish... which call for the use of one's fingers rather than silverware.  Don't worry, the servers will tie on a plastic bib to alleviate any fears from possible spills.  Nothing puts a stop to egotism and snobbery like a big, sillly bib!  Guests are pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of our food and variety of menu choices.  Come and check it out for yourself!

Who the Heck is Dick?

Yes, there really was a Dick.  Dick was a film producer whose claim to fame was making the movie "Hell's Angels Forever."  He breezed into Dallas in 1985 to open a white tablecloth restaurant & bar in a historic building in the West End.  Almost immediately, there was a heap of trouble when the building's key support wall collapsed.  A shocked Dick felt desperate, for he hadn't budgeted for construction delays.  He took advantage of a deal offered by a local realtor, leasing a 4,000 square food storefront in the West End.  He named the new bar "Dick's Last Resort" because indeed, it was.  And the rest, as they say, is history!
