Applause Productions & Publications started as an entertainment agency, when Lisa and Dirk Owen began booking local bands and entertainers for corporate and private events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 1988, the annual D/FW Party & Event Planner's Sourcebook was published and introduced at the first PartyFest Extravaganza Tradeshow — and both have run every year since.
